USC Salkehatchie Falls to USC Union

USC Salkehatchie men’s soccer created scoring opportunities but struggled to convert them in Saturday’s loss to USC Union.

Union opened the scoring after a clearance fell to one of its wingers, who finished an open shot on goal. Salkehatchie continued to generate chances but could not capitalize.

“We generated many scoring chances but didn't finish, they finished off their chances,” said Salkehatchie’s coach.

Goalkeeper Cyril Vital played the first 45 minutes, allowing two goals. Sergio Ruiz took over in the second half and also allowed two.

With another matchup against Union ahead, Salkehatchie is looking for a different result.

“We'll get them next week,” said Sarrive Ishiabwa.
