Salk Sits Atop Two National NJCAA Statistics

Men's Basketball

WALTERBORO, S.C. – The Salkehatchie men's basketball team currently leads the NJCAA in scoring and offensive rebounding. The reigning Region 10 champions have a revamped roster that is buying into an exciting brand of basketball.


Salkehatchie currently holds the nation's scoring crown at 106.3 points per game. The scoring comes from a consistent effort on the offensive glass where Salkehatchie also ranks number one in offensive rebounds at 23.3 per game.

  • @ Polk State College: 111 Points | 17 Offensive Rebounds

  • @ Daytona State College: 65 Points | 17 Offensive Rebounds

Protecting Home Court:

Salkehatchie is undefeated at home with an 8-0 record, averaging 134.6 points per game, and has won three straight games. The men's basketball team has scored 100+ points in 10 of the 12 games.

"As our men's basketball program continues to prepare for their conference run, we must take a moment to recognize their hard work to date," said Athletic Director Rodney Barr. "Our young men, led by Coach Matt Lynch, are ranked #1 in points per game and offensive rebounds per game in the nation, along with a 9-3 record overall.  We are excited about what is to come in 2025."


Conference Play:

The men's basketball team will have one more non-conference tune-up vs. Franklin Prep (Jan. 2 at 7 p.m.) before focusing on Region 10 play. Conference action will begin with a trip to Hudson, N.C., for a rematch of last year's championship game against Caldwell Tech on January 8 at 5 p.m. Then, Salkehatchie will return to the Salkehatchie Arena for a battle with Brunswick on Sunday, Jan. 12, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
