Late Goal Lifts USC Union Past Salkehatchie, 2–1

USC Salkehatchie men’s soccer fell 2–1 to USC Union after a late goal broke a tie with five minutes remaining.
Obedi Bahombwa scored Salkehatchie’s lone goal, with an assist from Etungano Wa Etungano. Bahombwa has now scored in back-to-back games.
“I’m getting my confidence back,” Bahombwa said.
With the score tied at 1–1, Union attempted a shot from distance. Salkehatchie goalkeeper Sergio Ruiz attempted to punch the ball clear, but it fell to a Union player who finished the rebound for the game-winning goal.
“We dominated play for long stretches so it’s frustrating to not at least get a tie,” Salkehatchie’s coach said.
Salkehatchie split goalkeeping duties between Cyril Vital and Ruiz. Vital recorded four saves and allowed one goal in 45 minutes, while Ruiz finished with five saves and one goal allowed in the second half.
