Salkehatchie Volleyball Splits Matches in Trimatch Event

The Salkehatchie volleyball team concluded its trimatch event today with a split record, securing a dominant win over Mid Atlantic Christian University (MACU) after a hard-fought battle against Lenoir Community College (Lenoir CC).


The team started the day against Lenoir CC, a challenging matchup that saw the Salkehatchie players go point for point with their opponent. "We held our own against Lenoir, battled point for point but in the end their offense got the best of us," said head coach Dani Aquino. Salkehatchie ultimately fell 0-3 in the match.


The squad quickly rebounded in its second match, facing Mid Atlantic Christian University. The team delivered a strong, cohesive performance, making quick work of MACU with a decisive 3-0 victory.


The overall team statistics for the trimatch were impressive, highlighting the team’s collective effort. The Salkehatchie team recorded a total of 54 kills, 14 aces, 53 setter assists, 8 stuff blocks and 109 digs.


The successful win in the final match of the day left the team with a positive outlook. "Overall we ended the day on a high note; faces full of smiles," Aquino said.


The team's next match will be against CIU JV in Columbia, S.C. at 7:30 PM.
