Salkehatchie Volleyball Splits Matches Against Rockingham and Caldwell
USC Salkehatchie Volleyball earned its first win of the season in a nail-biting five-set match against Rockingham Community College before falling to Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute later in the day.
Setters Brielle Krause and Sofia Remedios delivered outstanding performances, showcasing their athleticism throughout both matches. The duo consistently provided quality sets to Salkehatchie’s hitters and saved countless plays.
“It felt amazing earning our first win of the season as we took down Rockingham in a nail-biting five sets,” said Head Coach Dani Aquino. “They were all over the floor, picking up the majority of our hits, but in the end, we wanted it more.”
Outside hitters Martina Sommaruga and Heloisa Bernardo also earned recognition after securing six-rotation roles. Both made an impact with aggressive serving, dynamic defense and smart offensive kills.
Although Salkehatchie fell to Caldwell, the team held its own and forced its opponent to call several timeouts to adjust its strategy.
“If today was a glimpse into the future of our season, I have very high hopes for this team,” Aquino said.
I had fun exploring this game because it offers a straightforward setup with enough variety to keep things interesting. The controls feel natural, and the interface is easy to navigate. I liked discovering the different gameplay elements gradually instead of having everything feel complicated from the beginning. Overall, it is a comfortable game to pick up whenever you want a casual and engaging experience.
