PETERSBURG, Va. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team defeated Richard Bland 98-91 on Friday night to improve to 19-5 overall and 6-2 in Region 10 play.
The game featured two drastically different play styles. Salkehatchie came into the game averaging 112.3 points per game, which is first in Region 10 and the NJCAA. On the other end, Richard Bland leads the region in defense, holding opponents to under 73 points per game.
The game started as a back-and-forth affair, but Salkehatchie was able to keep the pace of the game going up and down. Salkehatchie seized the lead for good midway through the second half and rode some timely shot-making to the finish.
