Salk Scores 134 in Double OT Win Over Polk State

DAYTONA BEACH, F.L. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team won a double-overtime thriller over Polk State on Friday, 134-127. Salkehatchie wins its season opener for the third straight season and improves to 1-0.
Salkehatchie jumped out quickly and seized the early momentum by scoring in transition. Polk State, who had the size advantage, fought back as the game stayed up and down. Salkehatchie led at the break, 60-54.
Polk State began the second half with an unrelenting run that allowed them to take the lead. Salkehatchie trailed by 14 points with 4 minutes to go in regulation. And that's when "it" happened. Salk stormed back to send the game into the first of two overtimes. Both teams traded runs, but Salkehatchie was able to gut out a gritty win on the road.
