Salk Wins at Gaston, Takes Over 1st Place

GASTONIA, N.C. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team defeated Gaston College, 104-100, on Thursday night to take sole possession of first place in the conference. Salkehatchie improves to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in Region 10 play.
The game started as a back-and-forth affair. Salkehatchie started the game on a run, but the Rhinos quickly answered with one of their own. Salkehatchie led at halftime 52-50. The second half followed a similar formula of runs by both teams, but Salk was able to outlast Gaston and take control of first place in the conference.
