JACKSONVILLE, F.L. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team toughed out a win vs Marion Military Institute (NJCAA Region 22) on Saturday to improve to 6-1 overall. The Indians win their fifth in a row and are now 3-0 in neutral site games, 1-1 in true road games, and 2-0 at home in The Palace.
The game was a grind as both teams had quick turnarounds having just played less than 24 hours prior. Salk used a late run to take a five point advantage at half, 49-44. The second half would feature multiple lead changes as this tough Marion team refused to quit. One final lead change in the final minute and a timely stop would allow the Indians seal the win with clutch free throws.
