Lynch Named National Junior College Coach of the Week

WALTERBORO, S.C.- USC Salkehatchie's men's basketball coach Matt Lynch received the HoopDirt.com National JUCO Coach of the Week Award, presented by Just Play Solutions. 


Lynch led the Indians to a 3 - 0 week, highlighted by Tuesday's 53-point win over Cape Fear, 142-89. This is the second year in a row Coach Lynch has taken home a coach of the week honor. 


Coach Lynch’s USC Salkehatchie squad’s explosive offense was on full display this past week, as the Indians topped 100 points in each of their three victories. USC Salkehatchie began the week firing on all cylinders, scoring 73 points in the first half of a 142-89 victory over Cape Fear. The Indians then hit the road to take on Denmark Tech on Thursday, picking up a 124-112 triumph for win No. 20 on the season. USC Salk then capped off the week with a 103-85 home win against Wake Tech on Saturday. Through 25 games, the Indians are 21-4 and averaging a nation-best 103.0 points per game.


"This is a staff and team honor," said Lynch. "Coach White and Coach Long do an incredible job serving our players and program. I am extremely fortunate that I have them by my side and that we can lead this special group of guys."


This season marks the eleventh year of the HoopDirt.com Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs. Lynch is now eligible for the HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award, which will be announced at the end of the 2025-26 college basketball season.
