WALTERBORO, S.C. –  The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team defeated local South Carolina rival Denmark Tech on Wednesday night, 84-59. With tonight's victory Salkehatchie moves to 17-13 overall with a home record of 14-4. Fourteen home wins is a league best in Region 10 and the most at USC Salkehatchie since the 2015-16 season.
In the first half, USC Salkehatchie picked up where they left off Saturday, jumping out to a 9-2 lead. Salk would lead from there on out, taking a 15-point lead into halftime, 36-21.
The second half featured all 13 available players as Salkehatchie finished strong, holding Denmark to just 59 total points.
Salkehatchie will now have some time off until the Region 10 tournament begins next Thursday, March 14 when they will play Brunswick Community College at 5 p.m. The two teams split this year, with Brunswick winning the game in Walterboro 66-63 and then Salkehatchie securing a big road win in Wilmington, defeating the Dolphins 96-69.
