Salkehatchie Hosts Newberry College JV After Showing Offensive Progress on the Road

WALTERBORO, S.C. – The USC Salkehatchie women's basketball team is ready to return home for a pivotal matchup as they host Newberry College on Tuesday, November 11, at 6:00 p.m. The team looks to build on a promising offensive showing in their recent road games.
The Indians faced two tough challenges on the road, providing valuable lessons and experience early in the season.
On November 1, the Salkehatchie traveled to take on Florida Southwestern, ultimately falling with a score of 76-51. Freshman guard Madison Kerry was a bright spot, leading the team's scoring effort with 15 points.
Coach Erin Houser emphasized the team's ongoing development.
"We are still learning and growing from mistakes; we will find our stride soon," she said.
The team showed significant offensive improvement in its November 8 game against Albany Tech, pushing the game to a close finish before falling 79-74. Sophomore forward Kemarja Peay notched a strong performance with a double-double, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds. She was supported by a balanced scoring attack, as Madison Kerry, Dalashia Brunson, Eliza Baskins, and Lanasia Wilson all reached double digits.
