Salk's defensive prowess earns them a win over East GA State

WALTERBORO, S.C. –  The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team used their best defensive half of the season to improve to 6-5.

Salkehatchie jumped out to an early lead on the Bobcats in front of a large crowd in the "Salk Palace." However, East Georgia did not quit and used a big run of their own to push in front at halftime, 31-30.

In the second half, Salkehatchie came out and used multiple lineups to hold the Bobcats to just 11 points over the course of a 17-minute stretch. The teams traded baskets late, but Salkehatchie's depth proved to be too much for the Bobcats as Salkehatchie went on to win 62-48.

Salkehatchie will be back in action at home next Wednesday, Dec. 13, for a Holiday Intra-Squad Scrimmage. Admission will be free and concessions will be available. The scrimmage will tip off at 7 p.m. Be sure to follow @USCSalkMBB on Facebook, X, and Instagram for updates and livestream information.
