WALTERBORO, S.C. – The USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team opened the regular season with a victory. Salkehatchie defeated Chowan University 97-58 to win the home opener after returning to action following last season's rebuild.
The game was close throughout the first 8 minutes of the first half, but the Salk would finish the first half with a large run to lead 47-21 at halftime.
The young group would continue the hot shooting in the second half as they utilized their length and full court pressure to create transition opportunities in front of a large Walterboro crowd.
Salkehatchie will host Franklin Prep on Saturday at the Salk Palace. The game will begin at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $5 (cash only).
