Dalashia Brunson Named Kesia Brown State Farm Student-Athlete of the Month for March

USC Salkehatchie athletics is proud to announce that sophomore Dalashia Brunson has been named the Kesia Brown State Farm Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2026.

A native of Sumter, S.C., Brunson has distinguished herself as a cornerstone of the women’s basketball program through her relentless work ethic, academic focus, and commitment to her team.

Leading by Example

Brunson has garnered praise for her "dedicated student-athlete" mentality, consistently putting in the work during every practice and game. Her growth on the court is a testament to her focus and desire to improve.

“Dalashia puts in the work every day and demonstrates strong athletic ability during games and practices. She continues to improve in her sport and gives great effort whenever she steps on the court. Her positive attitude stands out because she supports her teammates, shows good sportsmanship, and always respects coaches, officials, and opponents.” - Coach Erin Houser

Brunson’s dedication extends well beyond the baseline. As a business management major with aspirations of becoming a business owner, she applies the same discipline to her studies that she does to her sport. She has successfully balanced the rigors of being a collegiate athlete while maintaining solid grades and staying responsible with her coursework.

Her coaches also note her coachability, highlighting that she consistently listens to feedback, follows team rules, and uses advice to better her performance and character.
