Christian White named assistant basketball coach





WALTERBORO, S.C. – Christian White has been named an assistant men's basketball coach for the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie.


"I am very excited for this new opportunity and to continue coaching with Coach Lynch and the Salkehatchie basketball family," Coach White said. "I want to thank Coach Lynch for this opportunity, and I am so ready to work. I look forward to the grind and to doing whatever it takes to help the team win."


Coach White, a native of Wilmington, North Carolina began his coaching career in 2015 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where he was part of a D1 program that made back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 2015-16 and 2016-17. He spent three more years with the UNCW program before moving on to Chowan University (D2) in Murfreesboro, N.C. Coach White has had a vast range of experience as he has held the titles of student manager, equipment manager, chief of staff and assistant coach

"Coach White and I are family. We've been together since 2017, and our program is surely elevated by his presence," Coach Matt Lynch said. "I knew the minute I took the job at Salkehatchie that I wanted C-White to be a part of the program. He brings elite energy to the day-to-day grind and will build great relationships with our players and the Walterboro community."

Coach White will reside in Walterboro, S.C.
